The Uniform ICD-9-CM Diagnostic Coding Guidelines as Adapted for Long Term Care Facilities were written in an effort to establish uniform coding guidelines for all New York State long term care facilities. The guidelines will facilitate uniform data retrieval for studies in the region, as well as assist in a fair reimbursement methodology for all regional facilities.
